EMSP 2014 AGM (Council), Executive Committee and Spring Conference
From May 07, 2014 14:30 until May 10, 2014 13:00 Save to calendar
This two-day conference marks the 25th anniversary of EMSP. To celebrate progress on the European stage and also plan for the road ahead, we will be bringing together people with multiple sclerosis (MS), carers, experts and professionals from across Europe to offer you a dynamic mix of presentations, interactive sessions and debates, as well as a special gala dinner and entertainment.
“Care where it counts - as you journey with MS”
Day 1, endorsed by Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis (RIMS), will focus on rehabilitation, on the needs of carers and on young people with MS.
Day 2, in collaboration with the MS Society of Ireland, will be centred on key developments and best practice in MS.
Highlights of the event will include the launch of several new initiatives:
- the “Believe and achieve” project, aimed at boosting employment and providing training for young people with MS;
- a video on the impact of living with MS in Ireland, part of EMSP’s Under Pressure project;
- a unique training course on MS nursing in Ireland.
The global MS landscape is changing. The number of people living with multiple sclerosis worldwide has increased by 10% over the past five years, to 2,3 million people. The number of neurologists and MRI machines has soared as well, but there is still a lot to be done in terms of research and access to employment and healthcare. So don’t miss the opportunity to start working together towards the next steps, at our Spring Conference in Dublin.
